The IP Showcase Theatre lineup for IBC2019 was announced today, and it features more than 50 speakers and panelists covering a full range of IP video and audio technologies and applications over the five-day program. Sponsored by a consortium of industry partners — the Audio Engineering Society (AES), the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers® (SMPTE®), and the Video Services Forum (VSF) — the IP Showcase has become a must-see attraction at IBC for anyone involved with the transition from SDI to IP, and the IP Showcase Theatre is the hub of education for the event.
Stan Moote of the IABM gives his take on METexpo 2019 in Sydney and the debut of the IP Showcase in Australia at the event.
“When I received a call about having IP Showcase at METexpo, I realised it was a great opportunity – though with a relatively short timeline to plan and implement, we also had a few challenges. The IP Showcase had not been in this region before. Could we get speakers? Could we get demo kit? Both are obligatory to provide an appropriate showcase such as the ones that have been successful at IBC and NAB over the past three years.” – Stan Moote, CTO, IABM
The IP Showcase announced today that it will make its first appearance in Australia at METExpo (Media + Entertainment Tech Expo) 2019 in Sydney, 17-19 July. The IP Showcase will feature a full slate of theatre presentations covering all aspects of the industry transition to IP, with an emphasis on technology tutorials and case studies.
The Australia Section of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers® (SMPTE®), the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), and the IABM have announced that they will stage an IP Showcase for the first time in Australia in conjunction with Media + Entertainment Tech Expo (METExpo 2019) in Sydney, 17-19 July.
A new feature of the IP Showcase at the 2019 NAB Show will be the JT-NM Tested program, a program designed by the Joint Task Force on Networked Media (JT-NM) to offer prospective purchasers of IP-based equipment more and better-documented insight into how vendor equipment aligns to the SMPTE ST 2110 and SMPTE ST 2059 standards.
